Every Nigerian student who sat for any 2026 NECO examination knows this feeling — the results drop and suddenly your phone won’t stop ringing. Parents calling. Friends texting. Everyone asking the same question: how do I check?
Here is everything you need to know right now, straight and simple.
What You Need Before Checking
To check online:
- Phone or laptop with internet
- Your NECO 2026 registration number
- A valid token (costs ₦2,100)
To check via SMS:
- Any phone
- SIM card linked to your NECO registration
- At least ₦50 airtime
Important: NCEE and National Gifted Examination candidates do not need a token. Only SSCE and BECE candidates need one.
How to Buy Your Token First
Before you can check SSCE or BECE results you need a token. Think of it as your personal access PIN — it works once and belongs to you.
- Go to results.neco.gov.ng
- Create an account or log in if you have one
- Click “Purchase Token” on your dashboard
- Pay ₦2,100 through any available payment method
- Your token appears under “My Tokens” immediately after payment
You can share the token with your parents, school or guardian if needed.

Common Problems and Quick Fixes
Website not loading? Too many students online at the same time. Switch browsers, try at midnight or very early morning when traffic drops.
“Result not found”? Double-check your registration number for typos. Your exam result may also not be released yet — check back in a few hours.
“Result withheld”? NECO has flagged your result for investigation. Log into your account and raise a support ticket or contact your school immediately.
“Invalid token”? Check the token carefully in your “My Tokens” section. If the problem continues contact your vendor or email *support@neco.gov.ng
